I sourced this rug during a recent trip in the Ait Bouguemez Valley, High Atlas, Morocco. I had the chance to meet the maker of this rug, called Bouchra, who was working in her garden with roses, vegetables and a beautiful almond tree, in the village of Timloukine.
This handcrafted rug is made of sheep wool on a cotton base. Background color is a beige (natural wool color) with black, mustard yellow, brown, dusty pink designs like the traditional hooked diamonds. It is such a sweet rug with soft tones and a medium pile.
Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures, so you can see the beautiful work on this rug!

The rug was not cut and comes in its original shape.

This rug is real vintage, meaning that it was made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of wear, like one stain that won't go away with cleaning. That said the rug is in a great condition!

You can vacuum your rug from time to time. If you happen to pour something on your rug, use a little bit of soft detergent and warm water, let it dry and then brush gently.
