I am so glad I can bring this beautiful rug to the selection! It was sourced in the area of Aït Bouguemez, Azilal, Morocco. It is a real vintage Azilal rug with signs of age but I love the whole composition so much that I couldn't let it go!
I will not pretend that I can clearly "read" the intentions of the lady weaver who made this rug but she had a great artistic sense for sure! What catches the eye is this serie of four colorful triangles on half of the rug, that turns to a more simple lines+diamonds combination in the second half. The whole rug is so vibrant and definitely is a unique piece of berber art!
The rug is made of wool on a cotton base and is a low pile.
