This beautiful handmade rug is probably from the area of Boujad, Middle Atlas, Morocco.
The composition of the rug is quite simple at first, with unregular stripes that come in red, royal blue, black, green and white. One some areas, small dots and short vertical lines break the monotony and give more rhythm to the whole rug. So do the bright white lines on half of the rug.
This handmade rug definitely is a unique piece of berber art! It would look great both in a bohemian decor or in a contemporary interior, surrounded with lots of plants!
The rug is made of wool on a cotton base and is a low to medium pile. Original colors that have not been artificially faded.
