An original work probably from the Zemmour tribe, West Morocco, shows two different techniques in one vibrant rug!
One half is made of bands with repeated traditional designs -diamonds in many sizes and shapes- in red, orange, black and green, and the other half is made of simple wool strips in black and gray. Here, a thin band with a repeated colorful triangle pattern finishes the composition of this perfectly balanced rug.
Made of wool + cotton. Flatweave.
Approximate dimensions are 4.6x8.3feet / 142x254cm. The item has not been cut and comes in its original shape.
Please note that this rug is real vintage, meaning that it has been made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with signs of age. You will spot some fixes, mostly in the striped part, as shown on the close-up shots attached. That said, the kilim is in beautiful condition.
