Zanafi rugs were made by the Aït Ouaouzguite tribe in the High Atlas Mountains, Morocco, often near the Siroua region. This one is a real vintage, unique one with its middle band in yellow and a rustic feel.

It is a flatweave, handcrafted using a mix of sheep wool and cotton. It is quite light and flexible, at home you would probably need to add rugpads. The composition is classic and minimalist in a series of dark brown and beige bands, some showing graphic embroideries, ending at both extremities with lovely tassels.

Pictures and video were taken in my all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures, so you can see the beautiful work on this rug!

Dimensions

Approximate dimensions are 4.9x9feet / 150x275cm.
The rug has not been cut and comes in its original shape. Due to the handmade work, it may not be perfectly rectangle.

Condition

This rug is real vintage, meaning that it was made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of age. That said, the rug is in great condition overall as you can see on the pictures attached.

Care guide

You can vacuum your rug from time to time. If you happen to pour something on your rug, use a little bit of soft detergent and warm water, let it dry and then brush gently.
