This small vintage rug was made by a lady weaver from the Taznakht tribe. Love the unregular vertical composition made of simplified floral designs and diamonds series. There may be some animal figures -I see a lion- and the name of God woven into the rug but it is hard to tell.
Background color is a dark brown with yellow and faded red designs. Naturally dyed with pomegranate peels.
The rug is made of wool 100%. Tight weaving which is typical from the Taznakht tribe. Low pile, the rug is almost flatweave. I recommend use of rug pads if you want to put it on the floor as it is very light.
Approximate dimensions are 2.9x4.1feet / 90x125cm. The rug has not been cut and comes in its original shape.
This rug is obviously real vintage, meaning that it has been made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with signs of age. That said, it shows no stains or obvious repairs. I do love the rug like shown on the pictures attached. I would understand that you prefer to have the fringes fixed. Feel free to let me know and I could have it done for free!
