I sourced this beautiful rug during a recent trip to the Souss Massa region in Morocco. It is a unique, real vintage rug from the Taznakht tribe that literally wishes you a warm welcome! In the middle part of it is written "1971 - Be welcome my guests".

Colors are original and bright, from a saffron yellow to a more intense orange with designs in black, red, beige, light purple... In this rug you will find different kinds of stars and berber crosses, floral designs and a few cute teapots! + a tiny hand ("khamsa") to protect the house from the bad things to happen.

The weaving/knotting work on this rug is quite tight. Low pile with flatweave endings. Silky and soft wool 100%.

Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures, so you can see the condition and beautiful work on this rug!

Dimensions

Approximate dimensions are 4.9x12.6feet / 150x385cm (+irregular tassels).
The rug has not been cut and comes in its original narrow shape, like most of the real vintage handcrafted moroccan rugs.

Condition

This rug is real vintage, meaning that it was made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of age. The most obvious thing to notice is the tassels ending that is a little damaged. I can have it fixed (straightened) if you prefer, with no extra cost. That said, the whole rug shows no stains or obvious fixes and is in a great condition!

Care guide

You can vacuum your rug from time to time. If you happen to pour something on your rug, use a little bit of soft detergent and warm water, let it dry and then brush gently.

This item will most probably be shipped with DHL, for a fast and safe delivery.

Customers in Europe: to avoid extra custom tax at reception I can ship using Aramex or a trusted local transporter. Count 15 working days maximum to be delivered.
