This modern-style, original rug was made by weavers artisans in the area of Taznakht, Morocco. Groups of women there still weave by hand on traditional, vertical looms to make these new rugs!

This rug is made of soft sheep wool 100%. The knots are lying down so the pile is not this high, a medium pile I would say. Both endings of the rug show the Zanafi work (the flatweave bands in beige and brown).

The checkered part is a mix of light beige/ivory and cappucino. In addition to the checks there are some other abstract designs in red, yellow, brown, gray, pink, beige.

Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures, so you can see the condition and beautiful work on this rug!

Approximate dimensions are 8.5x8.5feet / 260x260cm (+small tassels).

Care guide

You can vacuum your rug from time to time. If you happen to pour something on your rug, use a little bit of soft detergent and warm water, let it dry and then brush gently.
