This lovely rug is called a Zindekh mat. It is made of colorful cotton strands that are embroidered by hand on a piece of plastic bag. These light, tiny rugs were originally made by amazigh mothers for their babies to lay on. That's why they usually come with such colorful and playful designs!
What makes these textiles so special and unique is more the artistry in the composition than the modest materials used to make them. Zindekh mats are actually considered as real pieces of art and make perfect, colorful wall-hanging.
