Probably from the area of Ourika, this handcrafted vintage piece captures one of the oldest traditions of Amazigh textile art: dense, horizontal stripes inspired by the horizons of the Moroccan landscape.

The organic scheme features rich earthy tones - creamy beige, warm sand, soft brown, and deep charcoal/black stripes. A piece that features a tight, durable structure with a highly textural, rustic feel underfoot. Preserved raw edges ending with authentic, organic light wool fringes on one side, highlighting its ancestral loom heritage.

The rug is made of local sheep wool and cotton.

Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures, so you can see the condition and beautiful work on this rug!

The rug was not cut and comes in its original shape, a highly versatile accent size, perfect for a statement home office, an entryway, or layered in a bedroom.

Condition

This rug is a real vintage one, meaning that it was made first for a private use, not for mass production. It will come with light signs of age, a time-worn patina that adds undeniable soul and character. I carefully selected it for its unique graphic layout. Prior to listing, it was professionally washed and sun-dried in Marrakech and is now clean, odor-free, and ready to bring a touch of warm minimalism into your home.

Care guide

You can vacuum your rug from time to time. If you happen to pour something on your rug, use a little bit of soft detergent and warm water, let it dry and then brush gently.
