This lovely rug is called a Zindekh mat, made in the Boujad area, Morocco. It is made of colorful cotton strands knotted on a piece of plastic grain bag. These rugs in a small dimension were made first for the babies of the family to lay on. That's why they usually come with such colorful and playful designs!
Just like some of the abstract boucherouite rugs, made from recycled pieces of textiles, Zindekh mats are now considered as real pieces of art!
In this particular one you can spot plants in a pot and the date 2001 amongst other mysterious designs.

Approximate dimensions are 1.6x3.3feet / 50x100cm.
Can be washed at home using washing machine.
Please note that this rug is real vintage, meaning that it's been made first for private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of wear, like some worn spots in pile. That said, it's in beautiful condition, shows bright colors and a tight weaving.
