This traditional, vintage rug is typical from the region of Casablanca and is called a "Mediouna" rug. These decorative rugs usually feature a large, central medallion, surrounded with smallest figures in the corners. This one shows a symetric composition that is broken by the use of colors crosswise. The main background color is a bright red with red, orange, pink, black designs (berber crosses and flowers).

The rug is made of wool on a goat hair base (you can tell from the tiny tassels). Low pile.

Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures, so you can see the condition, texture and beautiful colors on this rug!

Dimensions

Approximate dimensions are 5x9.5feet / 155x290cm.
The rug has not been cut and comes in its original shape. Both endings were fixed though.

Condition

This rug is real vintage, meaning that it was made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with signs of age, like some worn spots in pile. That said, the rug has been cleaned professionally and is in a good condition!

I had the rug professionally cleaned prior to shooting and I can confirm that there is no color bleeding concern.

Care guide

You can vacuum your rug from time to time. If you happen to pour something on your rug, use a little bit of soft detergent and warm water, let it dry and then brush gently.
