Tuareg mats are handwoven by women of the Tuareg tribes of Mauritania. The base is made of natural palms and reed and decorated with intricate camel and goat leather strands.
These pieces are not exactly from Morocco but they have been used a lot to cover tents floors in the Sahara. And you already know how good they look in contemporary and bohemian interiors!
Background is light brown with bold leather designs in a tobacco color.
Approximate dimensions of this mat are 7.5x10.8feet / 230x330cm.
The mat has not been cut and will come in its original shape. It is a little curvy as you can see on the main shots of it.
Please note that this item is vintage, meaning that it's been made first for private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of wear. That said, it's in excellent condition, shows no holes or stains.
I buy items that I would buy for myself and I can assure you that this one is just GREAT!
