I have had this large, modern-style, Mrirt rug made by artisans in the area of Khenifra, Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Groups of women there still weave by hand on traditional, vertical looms to make these new rugs.
For this pattern I have been inspired by the zellige tiles used for floorings in Morocco.
This rug is made of premium quality, soft wool 100%. Medium pile, thick and heavy! Super comfortable texture and does not shed.
Background color is an ivory cream with terracotta (like a light brick color) blocks.
Approximate dimensions are 8.2x10feet (+15cm tassels on each endings) / 250x305cm (+6cm tassels on each endings).
This rug is newly-made, meaning that it will come to you all clean and in excellent condition! As it is handmade, it may show some irregularities. You may spot some folding marks on the pictures ; these go away with use.
Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures and video attached, so you can see the great work done on that rug!
