This vintage Boucherouite rug is made of multiple, colorful recycled pieces of clothes knotted on a cotton base. Women in Morocco have been using this technique for generations to recycle the family clothes cutting them in tiny, colorful pieces of fabric they assemble following their imagination. There are also some wool parts in this one.
I think they make perfect pieces of art you can definitely hang on a wall! Love the great abstract composition of this one!
Also, they can be easily cleaned using water and soap, which makes these rug kitchen/pet/children friendly!
Approximate dimensions are 4x6.7feet / 124x205cm (+unregular tassels). The rug has not been cut and will come to you in its original shape. Due to the handmade weaving work, the rug is slightly crooked but it is not that obvious.
Please note that this rug is real vintage, meaning that it has been made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of age. I am showing it just like I found it. I would understand that you would like to get these unregular tassels fixed or cut out. This can be done for free, just let me know. Then the rug is in beautiful condition as you can see on the pictures attached.
