What a fun rug! They made one very original rug out of 2!!
Could be because of severe damages on both rugs or because the owners had to cut the rugs when they inheritated (yes, some large rugs are cut in equal pieces as a bequest).
Main part is a classic yet very beautiful vintage Beni Mguild in the deep red, black and indigo blue, with lovely designs like diamonds, flowers and berber crosses. And on one ending they attached a piece of another vintage Beni Mguild in a bright red background with black, orange and gray triangles of different sides.
Both parts are made of wool 100%, medium pile.
Approximate dimensions are 5.7 to 6.2x9.8feet (+8inches tassels) / 175 to 190x298cm (+10cm tassels). The red part with triangles is slightly tighter than the opposite ending.
This rug is obviously vintage, meaning that it's been made first for private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of wear. That said, it shows no obvious fixes or stains and is in great condition!
