Vintage moroccan rug - beige, brown, orange, pink - Kilim Ourika - 5.2x9.7feet / 160x297cm

I sourced this rug in the region of Aït Bouguemez, High Atlas, Morocco, during a recent trip but it is more probably from the Ourika valley, where women weave these narrow, striped kilims in undyed, neutral colored wool.
I had a few in my selection in the past and, although the background looks similar from one to another (large strips in beige and brown) the additional designs are a deeply personal expression from the weaver. Here you will find a series of 3 unregular diamonds/lozenges in pink, white, black, green, orange... and randomly scattered smaller abstract designs.
The kilim is made of neutral sheep wool +colorful wool and cotton for the textured parts. Flatweave and quite thin. At home you would probably need to add rugpads.
Pictures and video were taken in my all white studio in Marrakech. They have been edited but colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures, so you can see the beautiful work on this rug!

This rug is real vintage, meaning that it was made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of age. The orange color bled a little (see close-up pictures). That said, the rug has been cleaned and nicely fixed and is in great condition overall as you can see on the pictures attached.

You can vacuum your rug from time to time. If you happen to pour something on your rug, use a little bit of soft detergent and warm water, let it dry and then brush gently.
