I cannot explain why but I deeply love the small "wave" design you sometimes -rarely- find on vintage moroccan rugs! I literally jump on a rug or textile when I find one with those! So I did not hesitate for a minute when I met this beautiful vintage, rustic yet elegant Ourika kilim!
It is made of wool%, striped in brown and beige (natural wool colors). Flatweave and quite thin so you would probably need to add rugpads.
Approximate dimensions are 5.2x12feet / 160x365cm. Due to the handmade weaving work, the kilim is not perfectly rectangle, which adds to its character. It has not been cut and is in its original shape.
Please note that this rug is real vintage, meaning that it has been made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of age, like the fringe that is a little torn. I like it like that but it can be easily fixed if you prefer. That said, the rug is in beautiful condition as you can see on the pictures attached, shows no stains or obvious repairs.
Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech, using outside light coming from large windows aside (no use of extra artificial light). Colors are accurate. Please take time to check all detailed pictures to see the great work on that rug.
